Contempo Standout on Half-Acre Glencoe Lot Asks $1.895M

New, 1 comment

This sizzlin' 1962 contemporary four-bed in Glencoe returned to market this week after a several-month break. The home includes a 2007 addition and a number of architectural oddities: a front door that looks lifted from an airplane; curvaceous glass block walls; fireplaces flush to the wall (and that almost look like flatscreens); three family rooms; and a double-height living room/dining room combo space with wood-beam ceiling. It's an introverted architecture, with giant windows facing the large well-planted backyard but virtually no relationship to the main approach. YoChicago honed in on the listing in early 2011, in part because the home's presence is an exception in traditional-minded Glencoe. At that time, the seller was asking $2.5M. Now, the prize is yours for $1.895M. The listing agent promises "flex for lifestyles". In that case, party hard!
