Chicago Mag has published a more serviceable rendering of the LGBTQ-geared Lakeview senior housing project. The development, by Heartland Housing and the Center on Halsted, will get down to business later this month. Seventy-nine affordable units and a community space are on the roster for the repurposed Town Hall police station and adjacent six-story new-build. The building's design comes off as less aggressive than in earlier sketches with a delineated setback, street plantings, and an earth-tone palette. The project will be the second or third of its kind nationally when completed in summer 2014. [Chicago Mag, previously]
