Bike Share

New, 4 comments

Chicago will roll out its new bike-share system, Divvy, on June 14. The blue and white bikes will first be found in 75 downtown docking stations, but the service will then begin an inside-out expansion until 400 stations (with 4,000 bikes) are placed from 63rd to Devon and the Lake to California by the end of 2014. Will the distribution be even? Probably not, but there are already inklings to where bike-share will set up in particular wards. Streetsblog managed a partial and unofficial list of station locations, based on hints from CDOT and ward offices. At right, see a map of tentative spots in Lincoln Square/Ravenswood. [Streetsblog]
