Baconfest Happened; Cocktail Heatmap; More!

UNIVERSITY VILLAGE—For the fifth straight year, Baconfest hit Chicago. Contributor Jeffy Mai recapped the bacon extravaganza for Eater, which included Three Aces winning a Golden Rasher award for the second straight year for their "Wake n' Bacon." They also made a bacon Malort julius.

CHICAGO—The Cocktail Heatmap got a spring refreshing this week, reflecting some of the hottest bar openings in a while like Billy Sunday and Charcoal Bar. Now go out and drink.

LOGAN SQUARE—The Intelligentsia expansion is in full swing as they opened up their Logan Square coffeebar. The sleek modern location features new pastries, modern seating, and yes, a coffeebar.

LOOP/GOLD COAST—Celebrity chef David Burke is opening a new farm-to-table concept in the upcoming Hotel Indigo. He also named his upcoming sandwich spot in the James Hotel Burke's Bacon Bar. The guy knows when to jump on a hot trend like bacon.
