One of the less-publicized active construction projects, Northwestern's new Outpatient Care Pavilion is hitting its stride in Streeterville. Two old warehouse buildings were demolished to make way for the 24-story, 400-foot tall facility, located on the southwest corner of Erie and Fairbanks. The lower floors will accommodate an enclosed, 575-space parking garage with eight floors of physician office space above, hence the switch-over from concrete to steel as the structure rises. The $334M, one-million-square foot facility is projected to add 600 new jobs (projections being a favorite NU pastime). When completed, it will offer a host of diagnostic services along with a new state-of-the-art Musculoskeletal Institute. Construction is expected to wrap in 2014. Check back for more!
