Crain's penned a feature on architect Mark Peters of Studio Dwell on Monday. Studio Dwell is making a name for itself as a relentlessly modern single-family home builder. They're most active in West Town, Wicker Park, and Bucktown, and chances are you've noticed the work: boxy, cantilevered forms with flat roofs and irregular windows that more-or-less subscribe to the Sarasota School of modern architecture. The structures are more involved and interesting than the generic contempos you get from other builders, and prices ($850K to $2.5M) reflect that. It's not the new worker housing, that's for sure.
