It's not intentional, but we don't dote on Margate Park properties all that much here at Curbed (apart from those tasty Castlewood Terrace homes). The park and lake-proximate sub-section of Uptown has a concentration of high-rises along Marine Drive and pre-war mid-rises on interior streets. There are some fine representatives of Art Deco among both. Perhaps the grandest and best conditioned is the 58-unit condo building at 5048 N Marine. One of the building's very cool duplex penthouses has hit the market, and its listing agent has just about lost it: "YOU WILL JUMP FOR JOY & SING PRAISE WHEN YOU SEE THIS DAZZLING ART DECO DUPLEX PENTHOUSE WITH AMAZING VIEWS OF THE PARK AND LAKE!!" He goes on to list its winningest features, which include an "ultra-fab" built-in bar with velvet banquette and a "knock-out" curved steel staircase. The "picture-perfect house in the sky" has three beds (with pretty snazzy tiered master), two-and-a-half baths, and 2,600 square feet of living space. Corner window bays and various light fixtures add some valued 1930s Art Deco residue. The ask: $495K with monthly assessments of $1K.
