Founding member of the Chicago Seven (architect's edition) Thomas Beeby was presented with the 2013 Richard H. Driehaus Prize on Saturday. The international award is given to living architects who master the application of traditional, classical ideals in their architecture. Beeby is widely known for his elaborate and loud Harold Washington Library and the Harris Theater at Millennium Park. This is the first time the Driehaus has been bestowed on a Chicagoan. Oh, and it comes with $200K. [WBEZ, previously, photo: Daniel X. O'Neil/Flickr]
