Laying Out Look of 12-Story Rental Plan For Wells & Huron

New, 13 comments

Campus Acquisitions, the very busy developer of planned student housing conversions in The Loop, a 20-story rental tower at State & Huron, and a 12-story rental building at Wells & Huron, has painted a picture of the latter. Direct from the rendering arsenal of Skyscraper Page's Spyguy comes this modern housing block design meant to supplant two single-story commercial buildings at 703-05 N Wells. The existing surface parking lot immediately to the north will remain as is, and the four-story Greystone apartment structure will continue holding down the corner. One wouldn't expect 12 stories to stick out in development-frenzied River North, but there happens to be nothing close to this height on Wells all the way from Grand to Oak. Perhaps it'll find a way to be a better neighbor to the row houses and vintage low-rises, although its overall design is rather benign. More to come!
