Cameras at the ready! It sure sounds like The Catalyst is underway in the West Loop. A tipster wrote Curbed to say that he'd spotted construction mobilization at the closed-off parking lot at Washington and Des Plaines. Another feller dropped a similar note in an old post on the subject. And Skyscraper Page is abuzz with the prospect of real action on the delayed 21-story, 223-unit rental tower by new owner/developer Marquette Companies. Amidst the commotion are suggestions of a new rendering, cleansed of Lucien Lagrange's fluorescent facade treatments, although Marquette's website still broadcasts the earlier version. We'll stick with that one for now. The developer's site also confirms Q1 groundbreaking, a 175-space parking garage and 15,000 square feet of retail (89% pre-leased). Amenities will include a rooftop pool.
