For $1.89M: Upscale New-Build Takes Over From Three-Flat

Exactly a year ago 1518 W George Street was a retro-looking three-flat dating to 1893, with subsequent additions. In another victory for luxury construction and a setback for residential density, a new six-bed product now stands at this address. The asking price is $1.89M for the Noah Properties home. The single-fam's beds and baths (six and five, respectively) are comparable to the preceding three-flat's total. But the curb appeal and interior finishes are, not surprisingly, miles beyond what the rental structure offered. The facade bears a uniform window design with white brick accentuated by stone molding. Inside there's custom millwork, a wine cellar, heated floors, and two wet bars along with a steam shower in the master bath. Another 21st Century marking: the home theater with 120" movie screen and surround sound which, admittedly, would be a cool place to watch the Hawks, busted win streak or not.
