Old Town is that much closer to accruing another 71 apartments now that JDL Development and Harlem Irving Cos have shelled out $6.5M for the development plot at the southwest corner of Wells and Scott. That's opposite 1225 Old Town, several times larger and many times more transformative for the neighborhood. But hey, at least we'll be kissing another surface lot goodbye. The planned five-story building is within zoning allowances. It oughta be a simple execution, a valuable thing for a developer (JDL) that's snared in a back-and-forth in Uptown. [Crain's, previously]
