One of the tallest buildings to break ground in recent years, 435 North Park (aka Loews Hotel tower), now has its tower crane in place. So reports the Chicago Architecture Blog and affiliated "spies". This major stride forward should put to rest fears of further delays over soil contamination. To refresh, the SCB-designed and formulaic-looking 54-story building promises to bring a lot of energy to its Streeterville block with 398 apartments and 400 hotel rooms. All that, and only 230 new parking spaces— a ratio to make some shriek and others rejoice. [CAB, previously]
