The gentle souls in Seattle haven't taken too kindly to Mayor Rahm Emanuel's direct assault on their biking culture and related industries. Presumably, Rahm meant those techie firms that count bikers and progressive types as a big chunk of their workforce when he said ""I expect not only to take all of their [Seattle and Portland's] bikers but I also want all the jobs that come with this." Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn issued a pointed rebuke of Rahm's mindset in his State of the City address this week, noting he's also got bike lanes on his agenda and expects to "keep [tech jobs] here". Bike bloggers continue to hang on every word of this bellowing standoff. [Seattle Bike Blog, photo: Grid Chicago]
