36-Unit Development Possible At Vacant Noble Square Lot

New, 3 comments

A 150' x 180' vacant lot at 513 N Bishop in Noble Square has the attention of local developer Domian Group LLC, who has been linked to a zoning application seeking permission for three low-rise buildings of 12 units apiece and matching parking spaces. There hasn't been construction of this scale in the surrounding blocks, including along Grand and Chicago Aves, for some time, although one is surely on its way at the old AAA site. We dropped by the site to see what any signage might reveal, but a For Sale sign and chain link were all that greeted us. We had trouble locating any listing for the property, which Crain's reports is owned by Grace Stramaglio Real Estate, and Domain doesn't display any renderings in its pending development gallery. This smells like an early exploration, but one the power to alleviate a real neighborhood eyesore— hopefully not to be replaced by another.
