The far west 'burb of Batavia doesn't get a ton of regional real estate attention, which may be why it took more than two months for anyone to pick up on the sale of Frank Lloyd Wright's Gridley House. That, and the normal fossilization that occurs whenever a home has been on the market for four years. Yup, 1,423 days on the market, according to the Coldwell Banker listing. Chicago Mag's Dennis Rodkin reports that the 5,100-sqaure-foot home on 2.3 acres sold in November for $850K. Originally asking $1.575M, the nicely conditioned property ended up in a short sale death spiral. Location, location, location. [Chicago Mag via PrairieMod, previously]
