We lost William Le Baron Jenney's Home Insurance Building—arguably the world's first skyscraper—more than 80 years ago, but hey, at least Chicago still has the master architect/engineer's delightful tudor row at 4052 N Kenmore. We addressed the historic property when it listed in July 2012 for $700K. The 2,300-sqaure-foot four-bed backs onto Graceland Cemetery and, unfortunately, the "L". A recent restoration doubled down on 1890s authenticity, but left the kitchen to rot in the 1950s. The coolest space to our mind is the turret-inhabiting office with its wooden pitched dome. The sellers come away with $630K.
