Opposite the Maxwell retail project on Canal near Roosevelt a developer is hoping to build a smaller but still sizable retail cluster. A venture of JRG Capital Partners paid $7.5M for a gas station at 1113 S Jefferson where zoning allows for a building as large as 200,000 square feet. JRG denies it's interested in anything that large, probably meaning the area can't quite absorb all that retail so suddenly. (with the under-constrution Maxwell sporting a whopping 230,000 square feet). JRG is content to let response from retailers dictate the project's size. [Crain's, previously]
