There are at least two CTA-helmed design meetings coming down the pike for the planned rebuild of the 95th Street Station, but tonight's gathering at Abbott Park will afford the public a chance to investigate and quibble over Theaster Gates' commissioned station art in addition to the minimalist architecture. The $240M total reconstruction of SOM's 1969 station is set to start in early 2014, and the renderings show clean, airy, and pleasantly sane spaces (with the exception of that "Miss Universe crown", as one Curbed commenter describes the large, meshy roof adornment).
