Chicagoland's POW Camps

A few thousand WWII prisoners of war were held at a half-dozen suburban Chicago camps and forts, now interactively mapped by WBEZ. The feature, which includes audio clips, a summary of POW imprisonment from 1943-1946, and anecdotal POW stories, is a generous response to a question fielded by the Curious City column as to the prisoners' distribution. Check it out! [WBEZ]
