Here Are Views From Within the Topped-Out Catalyst Tower

Just days after casing The Catalyst for a construction watch report, Curbed scored an interior walk-through of the just-topped-out 19-story apartment building at Washington & Des Plaines. There's not much new info to offer up for the development, just our photo gallery showing the views tenants can expect come mid-2014. Floor plans for the lowest residential floors—four and five—are now laid and drywall is coming next week. Above that, it's all steel and concrete. Our guide escorted this height-phobic editor to the 16th, 17th, and 18th floors, and then to the roof, each level a hive of activity hemmed in by mesh fencing. Workers were celebrating the topping-off over lunch and raffle, so we had extraordinarily open access. The views, particularly from the penthouse level (with extra high ceilings) and the rooftop pool and amenity deck, are pretty great— a conglomeration of towers to the east and mostly-open horizon to the west. Enjoy the pics and be sure to check back for the finished product in springtime.
