Wicker Park's "great puppet caper" is nearing a resolution, writes Gwynedd Stuart for the Reader. Say what!? Apparently a pair of Wicker Park apartments house a cache of marionettes, a few thousand strong, belonging to a master puppeteer since relocated to Michigan City. Ralph Kipniss ran a traveling puppet show biz in the 1960s and later formed the Puppet Parlor theater in Ravenswood; he was forced to abandon boxes of puppets in the city several years ago on account of a landlord dispute. A Kickstarter was launched upon their discovery to fund a rescue. [Reader]
