A couple months ago, Curbed reported on a National Park Service study favorable to rendering Pullman a National Historic Park site. Now, companion legislation is about to be introduced by local congressional sponsors. The designation alone won't fix the 'hood's ills—namely, blight-induced disrepair—but it would boost funding possibilities and dramatically increase the number of visitors to the area. The bill may well be sold as a part of Obama's legacy (the prez did some community organizing in Pullman), and as such needs to be acted on while Obama is in office.
