Now referring to it as "Millennium Park West", developer Steve Fifield continues to try and win over public and official support for a green "cap" of the Kennedy from Lake to Adams. Proposed in stages, with a total price tag of some $300M, Fifield would seek substantial TIF subsidy. The payoff, as he sees it: 15 acres of prized park space and the regeneration (and intensification) of a "soulless" corridor of parking lots, highway noise, and high-rises.
