Dankmar Adler-Designed Gold Coast Row Goes for $1.325M

Dankmar Adler, the Adler in Adler & Sullivan, crafted this Schiller Street home as part of a three-address row established by the architect circa 1875. That makes it one of the Gold Coast's earliest developments. The two-bed/three-bath home is a finely appointed and renovated blend of historical details and modern insertions. Etched glass windows, hardwoods, pocket doors, and a grand staircase account for the lion's share of vintage components while the bedrooms, baths, and kitchen insist on a newness. The backyard totes along gardens, a patio and a two-car garage. The stone and stoop-fronted row, misidentified in the listing as "brownstone", sold this week for $1.325M after more than two years' worth of attempts. Don't fret! It's oh-so-genteel neighbor, 55 W Schiller, is still on the market for $985K.
