The Abraham Lincoln Center at 700 E Oakwood is one of only a few large-scale Frank Lloyd Wright commissions in Chicago, and, being a collaboration with Dwight Perkins who produced the final exterior, architectural historians are conflicted as to its place in the Wright catalogue. Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU) is less conflicted about its feelings for the structure it inhabits, devoting resources to a complete reconstruction of the auditorium by 4240 Architecture. The unveiling will come in December. [NEIU press release, Frank Lloyd Wright Blog]
