Urban Sandbox Penthouse Sells Above Springtime Asking Price

New, 3 comments

The architectural flotsam of Urban Sandbox, a mix of oversized single family contempos, and one really nice Miller Hull-designed condo building, is something of a Bucktown attraction. Hyper-talented developer Karen Ranquist has yet to fill in the development's two missing teeth leaving the 1600 block of North Wolcott feeling a bit exposed. Sales came slowly, but they came, and now a marvelous penthouse unit in the Miller Hull building has resold for $1.385M, $225K above the 2009 purchase price and a touch above the May asking price. Neighboring penthouse unit 402 had similar resale success last year. The three-bed has custom built-ins and sleek fixtures aplenty, furthering the immense appeal of floor-to-ceiling windows, dark hardwoods, and a 70-foot wraparound terrace w/ hot tub.
