Un-arrested Development?

New, 18 comments

There's a murmur—nay, loud insistence—that the developer of the torpedoed Chicago Spire will resuscitate the original plan for a 2,000-foot supertall at 400 N Lake Shore Drive. The insistence is from the developer himself, Garrett Kelleher, who has been wrestling with creditors and a bankruptcy case for three years. Kelleher's lawyer tells Crain's the Irishman is "very committed to the Chicago Spire...we're coming out of the perfect storm and this is the perfect product." Another batch of investors with deep pockets is needed to beat a March deadline, so we'll see how the courtship (and bankruptcy) plays out. [Crain's, previously, previously]
