Some new details on a proposed Gold Coast hotel: Don Wilson's DRW Holdings wants to stick a 160-room hotel where the ratchety Cedar Hotel stands; the tower would likely be around 18 stories; and amenities would include a restaurant, bar, and roof deck. The opinion of fellow developer Michael Reschke is that going "boutique" is the path to success, since "it's a little bit far north for a businessman's hotel." No word yet on a hotel operator. You'll recall that another developer once proposed a 216-room hotel called The Mondrian, a plan that went south in late 2008. [Crain's, previously, rendering: The Mondrian Hotel, circa 2008]
