High-Floor 2/3 in Vintage DeGolyer Co-op Lists for $75K

New, 2 comments

Robert DeGolyer's Windsor Beach Apartments in South Shore is as majestic as any vintage Gold Coast building (some designed by DeGolyer as well). It even offers advantages over North Side peers: lakefront proximity without a roadway barrier; and a private beach. The National Historic Register building dates to 1928 and has limited availabilities, partly owing to the longevity of co-op ownership. There are a couple openings, however, and one just hit the market for $75K. The 2-bed/3-bath, 11th floor space is well put together with hardwood floors, a fireplace, and the added character of original moldings and millwork. The kitchen is a laggard in this regard with its bare-bones appliances, plain tile flooring, and scarce counter space. An $837 monthly assessment covers utilities, door staff, fitness facilities, and parking and grounds maintenance. Another unmentioned asset is the striking South Shore Cultural Center with golf course and public beach just up the block.
