Developers of the 20-story apartment tower planned for Lake & Forest in Oak Park have been dragging heels since the project's initial 2008 approval as a 13-story hotel/condo building. Various amendments changed the size and unit mix until the present iteration arrived in fall 2011, calling for 270 rental units, 25,000-square-feet of retail space, and a 588-space parking garage to replace the current village garage. Lake Street Investors can no longer make it happen so Golub & Co. and Wood Partners are eyeing a rescue, reports Oak Leaves, and they have eight more months to make good on the Planned Development.
