Brownstone Sends Tremors Through Wicker Park w/ $2.7M Ask

New, 7 comments

The historic Wicker Park mansion district never disappoints. Just when the MLS's parade of high-rise condos and brick new-builds starts to wear a blogger down, classic Wicker comes through. This genuine Brownstone Victorian mini-manse logs four beds, five-and-a-half baths, and 6,000 square feet of modernized living space. A finished basement lounge w/ projection screen and sauna and a finished attic w/ two bedrooms maximize the 1880 home's utility. The brokerbabble suggests the only thing better than pure "Old World ambiance" is Old World ambience "infused with high style and warmth". Well, then. Our only real gripe is compromised yard space— there's little more than a side patio despite the plus-sized lot. You gotta pay for all that house somehow. Speaking of payment, the initial ask is $2.7M, currently the fourth priciest in Wicker/Bucktown.
