Many More Eataly Details; Two Huge Chef Shuffles; The Dawson Opens

This week's top dish from Eater Chicago, Curbed's restaurant, bar, and nightlife blog...

RIVER NORTH—Even more of Eataly is coming into focus, and there seems to be no end in sight for the amount of news. First off, superstar chef Mario Batali announced two possible opening dates last weekend while in town for a public chat with Rahm—November 22 or 29. Batali is also planning a full-service restaurant similar to his Babbo in NY, as well as a Nutella bar, and they'll have 1000 parking spots available.

LINCOLN PARK/LAKEVIEW—Two huge-name local chefs dipped out of their high-profile gigs. The first was near-Top Chef-winner Dale Levitski, who left Sprout and Frog N Snail. He had already been gone for five months on a "glamping" trip to Montana.

RIVER NORTH—The second chef to leave was Ryan Poli, who left a gigantic gig with Mercadito Hospitality to "get back to being a chef." He launched and was running Tavernita and Little Market Brasserie.

RIVER WEST—The most noteworthy fall opening (besides Eataly) happens on Friday when The Dawson enters the stage at the confluence of Grand, Milwaukee, and Halsted. The massive place includes two huge floors, a gigantic patio, a former Next chef, and off-menu Jell-O shots.
