The big local winners are in for this year's American Institute of Architects (AIA) awards. The Chicago Chapter's jurors selected outstanding works of local architecture firms from the past five years. Receiving the highest distinction—an honor award—is Perkins + Will's Rush University Medical Center (kinda saw that coming...); VOA Associates' Roosevelt University vertical dorm earned recognition for sustainability in design (it uses 28% less energy and 35% less water than comparable towers); and Ross Barney Architects won in the "divine detail" category for their CTA Morgan Station.
