Add this to the Berkus Circus: an 1884 multi-family reconstituted as a large single-family home. Nate Berkus bling (or the residue, thereof) inhabits the newfangled spaces, from the light green wallpaper of the foyer to custom moldings, stained glass, and sidelights, in the elaborate staircase design, kitchen design, and in the master suite with its sitting room, bar, and marble bathroom. The master is also lofted above the living room and a spiral staircase presents a back door escape. We also count a luxurious basement lounge (and sculpture display) space and a 2-bed/2.5-bath coach house at back with deck and patio buffer. The ask: $1.349M. Pretty swanky, but how well does it compete against the star designer's former Gold Coast digs or any number of his commissions for well-healed Chicagoans? We'll put in the 90th percentile.
