HDR Architecture has been granted the American Institute of Architects' 2013 National Healthcare Design Award for its work on the Focal Point mixed-use complex in Little Village, reports the Chicago Architecture Blog. Saint Anthony Ministries is the major force behind the project and will be its anchor tenant if and when the massive development opens in 2016. The modernist complex builds greenspace and athletic fields around elegant medical, office, and retail buildings. There's even a pool. A nice way to engage the community while raising money for medical functions. Symbiosis, folks, symbiosis. [CAB, previously, rendering: HDR Architecture]
