Pilsen's Thalia Hall was an early example of mixed-use community-minded development when it opened in 1892. Now that hard rocking restauranteurs Bruce Finkleman and Will Duncan have taken over the forlorn landmark, it's well on its way back to intensive public use. Chicago Architecture Blog parses the alterations and adaptations to the 120-year-old structure. The restaurant and bar are open for business (photos and details at Eater!) and the upstairs theater should open to music, art, film, and theater bookings in a few months.
