Via email blast, Curbed has learned that the $420M Circle Interchange reconstruction is kicking into gear. Get set for four years of staggered disruption to normal traffic flow and transit access on West Loop and Lower West Side neighborhood streets. Oh, and prepare for three new flyovers as additions to the skyline— one of which will send tremors through the Green Street Lofts condo building. Studies conflict on whether the project will achieve 2040 engineering projections of modest reductions in CO2 emissions and travel time without an explosion in overall vehicular traffic.
