Webster Square Making Slow Strides Toward Completion

New, 9 comments

Eight months after our initial rendezvous, we were back in Lincoln Park for more pics of Webster Square, where progress has been slow but steady. The multiphase adaptive reuse project is gradually transforming the old Lincoln Park Hospital into a moderately-scaled, mixed-use development. Since our last visit, the parking structure across from the hospital has undergone its conversion to a single-story retail space and is being readying for occupancy. Mrs. Green's Natural Market, a NY-based boutique grocer, agreed to lease 20,000-square feet of space in the building after Fresh Market cancelled its lease in late 2011. In addition, glass installation has been completed on the western and southern facades of the 75-unit rental building on Webster and Geneva. The existing 12-story mid-rise structure, which will house 120 condo units, still awaits its new facade. Finally, much of the western side of the site remains unchanged, including Grant Place, where eight townhomes are still in the works. We'll be back for future updates!
