Market-Topping Lincoln Park Mansion Lists for $8.9M

Calling all whales and wannabe whales. A $8.9M property has just hit the market on one of Lincoln Park's priciest blocks: Howe Street, just south of Armitage. This stretch of Howe has seen two $5M+ sales in the past five years, but the only neighborhood property rivaling the new listing is the remarkably opulent Dewes Mansion, on the market since November 2010. With the notable exceptions of the garage-top sports court, full gym, and home theater, this nine-year-old, 11,000-square-foot six-bed is a bit of a snooze. Everything about it reads value-added, yet the very conservative finishes fail to inspire. Old money, new money, who really cares. How about lots of money? Oh, and feel free to tack on an additional side lot for another mil— which you'll want to seriously consider once realizing the $9M tag buys you exactly zero greenspace.
