Campus Acquisitions, the firm behind the proposed residential conversion of three buildings near DePaul's Loop campus, has also set its sights on River North. According to Crain's, the Chicago-based developer is proposing a 20-story rental tower with 80 units at 4-8 E. Huron Street. This represents a venture into the mainstream rental market— a savvy move considering that sector's unabated demand and soaring prices. The 8,500-square foot parcel, purchased for $6.1 million, is currently occupied by a group of vintage row homes, which, sadly, will have be demolished to make way for the project. Also on the developer's agenda: a 10- to 12-story rental building planned for 703 N. Wells Street. No renderings have been released, but we'll hit you back as soon they surface.
