From the street, this 5/4.5 new build in far-flung Lemont has all the charm of a century-old Victorian. Inside, things get a bit hairy. We're not sure what to make of these gaudy, overdone interiors, which could explain why the place has languished so long. Public enemy number one: a gourmet kitchen that assails the senses with gold-painted (?) authentic tin ceilings. But that's not to say there aren't any virtues. After all, we're kinda fond of the lustrous wood beam ceilings in the living room (enhanced by lustrous photography, no doubt). On the market for $600K after a few price cuts, the owners have invested over $860K in the 6,000-square foot home, which also features a paver patio, outdoor gardens, two fireplaces, and a fully-finished basement.
