Restaurateur's Circus Home Relists for $2.675M in West Town

New, 1 comment

Restaurateur Jerry Kleiner's (Carnivale, Park 52, and others) West Town home is one heck of a garrulous delight. Just listen to the acid ramblings of the surrealist decor gracing each and every room. It even extends to the front yard putting green and the 8' cartoonish curbside planter. When Curbed covered the fresh listing in February 2011, Kleiner was asking $2.9M. Two months later, the listing came down. Same thing happened back in 2004, with an ask of $3.25M. That was when West Town was contending with rampant gentrification. The nabe still has that trajectory, albeit more gradual. So maybe this time around the $2.675M ask won't send buyers running for the hills. Kleiner did the heavy lifting in converting an industrial garage to a 9,400-square-foot palace. Love or hate it, you've gotta admire the risks from room to room, although those pillows on the stairs look awfully dangerous. The home covers three city lots, and has been the site of fabled holiday parties and special events over the years. Back on the market with new representation, we'll be keeping a close watch on any developments.
