Derrek Lee Parts With Terrace-Laden Gold Coast Den

Former Cubs first baseman and fan favorite Derrek Lee has sold his Gold Coast 3-bed in the newish Elm Tower, reports Bob Goldsborough of The Tribune. Lee hasn't been with the Cubs for the past two seasons (he's not signed with any team this year), but there's never a good excuse to divest yourself of Chicago entirely. Because we rule! This transaction would appear to sever Lee's active ties to Chicago. The 12th-floor unit was first listed in April 2011 for $1.35M, and closed last week for $1.025M. That's a slide, but not as steep as some over similar spans on the market. The crisp interiors boast hardwood floors, fireplaces, master suite with two walk-in closets, spa bathroom, "expansive Chef's kitchen", and, most significantly, three private terraces. The building's Art Deco stylings create an unusual amount of outdoor space without pasting balconies all over the place— a refreshing change of pace.
