For $285K: One-Bed 'Loft Style' Condo In Old Carriage House

New, 1 comment

In a gritty, hodgepodge area of the Near North Side, we happened upon this historic carriage house that was converted to condos in 2000. The 112-year old building is home to a one-bedroom duplex "loft style condo," on the market for $285K. Inside, there's an open combined living/dining area overlooking a private terrace with views of the skyline from its second floor perch. (We didn't see any shots of said views in the listing, so we'll have to take their word for it.) In true loft form, the bedroom is peppered with exposed ductwork and a rough-hewn concrete ceiling. Other highlights: hardwood floors, in-unit laundry hookup, a den, granite, attached garage parking, and access to a sundeck. And even though the place kinda feels like its off the beaten path, you've got an el stop just around the corner and plenty of retail nearby on Wells.
