And another one bites the dust. The star-crossed Block 37 mall has shed its third tenant in just a month, upping its already sky-high vacancy rate to just north of 70 percent. This time it's footwear retailer Alternative Shoes that's making an exit. It's no secret that the mall has had serious issues getting people in the door. As owner Sandro Ciurcina of Alternative Shoes lamented, "You can't tell it's a mall." In an attempt to drum more foot traffic, plans are in the works to create a blues-themed museum and nightclub known as "The Blues Experience."
