United Airlines is relocating its corporate HQ from its current digs at 77 W. Wacker to Willis Tower, which is already home to the airline's new operations center. After the move, United will occupy a total of 830,000 square feet over 16 floors, making it the largest tenant in Big Willie. Mayor Rahm Emanuel praised the move: "This deal shows United's commitment to Chicago for a generation." Its new lease is set to expire in 2028. No word on when the move will get underway, but United is actively seeking to sublet the 250,000 square feet it currently occupies at 77 W. Wacker. [Sun-Times]
