Rebuilt 1891 Near North Rowhome Re-Lists For $2.98M

Three years ago, this buxom Near North rowhome hit the scene. Its ten-year regeneration owed everything to homeowner Tom Tremback's heavy investment in a nearly collapsed shell of a house. It arrived with great fanfare, landing a "square foot" segment on LXTV. Then it disappeared for 18 months. Now with Coldwell Banker, the new ask is $420K less than the last listed price. Which makes it a hefty but conscionable $2.98M. The 3/3.5 home dates to 1891 and boasts 5,000 square feet of contemporary living space beginning with its centerpiece, the expansive 2-story living room. It's indicative of how the owner opened up the floorplan when renovating. Other standout features include seven fireplaces, a master suite with spa bath, elevator, wet bar, roof access, and a large sitting area for old school entertaining (should you remember how). Perhaps best of all is the large landscaped backyard with koi pond, garden, and pergola. Not sure why this didn't sell the first time. Consider yourself lucky.
