"I think this study is grossly misnamed. The only transit it considers is Metra, which is used almost exclusively for trips between a suburban station and Chicago. The only attention it gives to PACE buses how many routes go by the station; these receive an overall weight of ~3%. Only 15% of Americans' daily trips are taken for commuting, which is the primary purpose of Metra. This study doesn't really account for the 45% of trips that are taken for shopping and errands, which, if taken by transit, would almost certainly be done on a PACE bus irrespective of whether the line connects to a Metra station. This is a good study about "the top Metra suburbs", not the best transit suburbs." —Ben LeRoy [Top Transit 'Burbs]
