Revamped Cicero Hine Cottage Sells Fast For $304,000

In early June, we latched onto a newly listed Cicero Hine Cottage in Oakland. Running the 4100 block of South Berkeley Ave, the Cottages were Cicero Hine's first solo commission in 1886-87, endowed with a serious Queen Anne pedigree, and, until recently, seriously downtrodden. The $319K asking price on this award-winning renovated 3-bed was a good gauge of desirability, given the highly transitional location. Closing quickly for $304K, other Cottage owners may shoot for more in the future. These homes are no slouches, after all, replete with stained glass, marble floors, hardwoods, and fireplaces.
